We were created by God who is the Creator of mankind, the earth, the stars, and everything in existence. The first thing we read in the Bible was that God created. He created for six days, and He saw that His work was good. As beings who were created by God, we were made in His image, which means that instilled within us, we all have a spirit of creativity that is waiting to be let out.
Lichaela and Loriah Maddox are bible study leaders and bakers, and I am a substitute teacher and graduate student. We were brought together initially during the earlier stages of the pandemic in 2020 when I joined Lichaela and Loriah’s bible study- virtually. However after being presented with the opportunity to do video for Washington State Women’s Basketball, I made the decision to move to Washington, and I was there until April 2021. In April 2021, I decided to move back to California to finish my M.Ed. A month later, Lichaela and Loriah welcomed me back into their bible study group, and we have grown to be best friends.
In the Bible, it says, “For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.” (Matthew 18:20 NLT). That is exactly what I feel and know to be true in the time of fellowship we spend together. Despite our different occupations and callings, we have learned that we have much in common from living in Riverside, to having played basketball near each other when we attended high school, to loving the arts, and to watching anime and reading stories. Through learning about all these similar experiences and common interests, I have learned that God is the true key that has allowed us to come together and to become sisters.
So this is where we begin. These Inklings of Eternity- the eternity that God has placed in our hearts. These collective interests, creative hobbies, and passions of ours are not simple passing whims. The Inklings of Eternity started with this premise between friends who have been called to create in different ways. And although our styles and methods of creativity differ, we are assured that this will all work according to our good because there are no barriers when the mission is for us to go to the ends of the earth.
